Food distribution to the poor.

Spread the love

One of the vital aspects of really any church, is distribution of our alms to the poor. (This isn’t talking about money, but tithing in food or other items for the poor or needy). Some perhaps have a little money but will go without some necessities. The church shouldn’t let that happen.

We have food banks for the poor in most of our churches. This ensures our tithes and offerings are indeed going up to YAHWEH. This is a real orthodox liturgical practice. We pray for those who need the food and give as much as we are able towards their needs. This also opens up opportunities for exchange of volunteer service to the church. It gives the poor also an opportunity to move up in society and participate in our feasts and other assemblies.

It is a critical part of our faith, to be able to give to the poor. It is a way we tithe and offer to YAHWEH.  This is where God blesses us with the rewards for the faithful obedience. You can join our church and assist with collection of food for the poor. We have several outlets that ensures we bring the food to the poor and needy.

In our church it is done on a scale that has no cost to the ministers delivering it, but fits with their lifestyle. We have found that so many charities will keep 90% of the donations to pay people’s salaries rather than delivering it to the poor. Several of these have hundreds of employees and offices to pay for. Many of the charities are non-religious or even anti-religious, so we never know where the money is going. When disconnected from the church, many believe that it ceases to be that spiritual practice of giving our offering to God.

Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD(YAHWEH) of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Participating in church food bank collections will bring you many blessings and protections for times to come.
